Eye of the Hurricane

I have always loved the great musical styling of David Wilcox. His smooth, folksy voice accompanied by the mellow sound of his guitar has captivated me for years. So when I heard he was coming to Colorado a while back I decided to put together some posters for his show in Evergreen.

The Fight for Harmony

I was going through some of my old work and I came across this one involving wrenches. The entire piece is quite abstract however I really like how the wrenches come together at the end, almost like tile in an old kitchen . I like to relate the sequence to contention/battle in the fact that maybe sometimes a little conflict is needed to understand that there is a commonality between the two opposing parties. I might be talking total gibberish but thats what I see, maybe someone else sees something different.

This is an advertisement i put together for a class. The project involves creating a design, creative and media strategy for the Colorado Rapids soccer team. This is just one of the ads I put together for either a magazine or billboard display.

Exploration

Hello all

I have decided to create a blog/portfolio to display my various works in progress as well as previous projects. I am currently creating my own website but in the meantime I will be using WordPress to exhibit my art.

I will showcase my ideas on and through typography, photography, and imagagraphy (I think I just made that word up), and try to find out what work challenges me the most while still allowing the right amount of creative freedom.

I hope everyone will follow me on my design journey and please feel free to express questions and opinions along the way.

Peace and love,

Jake Bailey
